Holistic Therapy
Holistic therapy is a generic term for any treatment that is intended to treat the individual as a whole (mind, body and spirit).
Waxing
Wax can be used on all parts of the body for both men and women:
- Facial areas
- Legs, arms and under arms
- Chest, abdomen, back and buttocks
- Bikini line - many salons have specific names for the treatment in this area:
The ? Hollywood?- full and total hair removal
The ?Brazilian? ? not quite total removal; a small line of pubic hair is left centrally in a vertical line. This may also be called a ?Mohican? or a ?landing strip?
There are two types of wax treatment:
- Hot
- Warm/cool
The choice of wax treatment will depend on the therapist, the client and the area to be treated.
The method of application is different according to the wax selected and the particular system being used. Some warm /cool systems involve roller applicators and for hygiene purposes, completely disposable applicators.
The ingredients of the wax will also vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, with many now including natural ingredients in the wax to help soften and moisturise the skin.
Waxing removes the hairs from the roots, leaving a smooth hair free area for 3- 6 weeks depending on the hair growth.
